University of St Andrews Biomedical Sciences Research Complex on Target for BREEAM Outstanding |

The Client and Design Team are on target to achieve an Outstanding Target BREEAM rating for the University of St Andrews Biomedical Sciences Research Complex which comprises three floors of CL2 & CL3 laboratories, write-up spaces, offices and meeting rooms. The project is on site and is well on the way to achieving its target. The project will be one of the first University Science Laboratories to achieve such a rating by extensive incorporation of low and zero carbon technologies such as CHP, lighting & lift control systems and solar reflective blinds. The project also utilises ‘Secure by Design’, natural stack ventilation and high efficiency variable speed chillers. In addition, the project has been awarded an A-Rated EPC (Energy Performance Certificate).
