This is a refurbishment of the 4
star 150 bed George Hotel for Principal Hotels, located on George Street
Edinburgh. The building which is category ‘A' listed has been long overdue an
overhaul with the new owners commencing the refurbishment in early 2006.
The refurbishment involved upgrading the hotels very old infrastructure, including new boiler plant, comforting cooling to bedrooms and FOH areas and the electrical distribution. A complete overhaul of public areas on the ground floor and remodelling of the conferencing facilities provides accommodation suitable for the 21st Century. A 60 bedroom extension was built in 2009 to complete the upgrade of the hotel to 210 bedrooms.
