Virgin Money Headquarters, St Andrew Square, Edinburgh
RSP were appointed by Virgin Money in late 2010 to carry out building design services for the refurbishment of their new 4,900 sq m headquarters in Grade A Listed, 28 St Andrew Square, Edinburgh.

This new office is to provide accommodation for their headquarters and call centre operations. The project also includes the Virgin Money Lounge which is a new concept in customer contact.

The lighting is designed to LG7 standards with full lighting controls throughout including presence detection and daylight dimming to the building perimeter. Lighting design was subject to extensive co-ordination between RSP, the client and architect to ensure the end result was in keeping with Virgin's vision. Small power and data is provided via underfloor busbar trunking and floorboxes co-ordinated with the architects proposals for the end user.

Energy efficiency within the floorplate is aided through the use of LED technology, high efficiency and high output TS lamps, and a fully addressable lighting controls system.

The heating and cooling is provided by several three pipe heat recovery VRF systems. The air cooled condensers are located on the roof and connected to a ducted type fan coil unit which provides conditioned air to the office spaces. The VRF systems incorporate automatic controls. Treated fresh air for the occupants is provided via roof mounted air-handling units.
