RSP were commissioned by White Stuff in Spring 2010 to supply M&E
services for their new flagship store on George Street, Edinburgh; their
largest retail space to date.
The mechanical services consisted of a URF installation to provide Heating & Cooling to all the retail spaces and a centralised ventilation plant. All plant selection was closely reviewed with the client to ensure that the most economical and energy efficient systems were specified. This included the incorporation of a thermal wheel within the AHU providing up to 75% heat recovery. RSP's work involved close collaboration with specialist lighting designers, INTO, to ensure that lighting gains were controlled, reducing loads on the building cooling system; and interior designers AMD to ensure that services were appropriately distributed and concealed. Toilet extract to the staff toilets has also been controlled by an occupancy sensor to reduce energy consumption and runtime. The store opened in November 2010. |
