RSP was commissioned by Shawfair Development to masterplan the utility infrastructure for one of the largest community regeneration projects in Scotland. The project involves creating a new community in and around the former Monktonhall Colliery, Greendykes, Little France and Danderhall.
The proposals include 4800 new homes, shops, supermarkets, offices, schools, community facilities, industrial units and workshops. The practice carried out studies on existing services, prepared load assessments and negotiated with the local utility companies for available capacities and costs. The services included electricity, gas, water, drainage and telephony.
