RSP’s success in this sector has resulted in excellent working relationships with clients such as The National Museum of Scotland, The British Film Institute and Edinburgh Zoo.

RSP has been appointed on multiple fronts to carry out intrusive and non-intrusive investigative works throughout The National Museum of Scotland estate to identify  remedial and rectification works required to the existing mechanical and electrical systems within their buildings. As an integral part of this process, advice is also being provided on how to reduce energy usage, cost and carbon emissions

The practice was also involved in the The Budongo Trail for Edinburgh Zoo which is a 1400m2, £6m chimpanzee enclosure and visitor experience which houses 50 chimpanzees, a 200 seat auditorium and interactive display area. The £6m project is also combines as a cognitive research laboratory shared by Scotland’s major Universities and forms entry to the Zoo’s tropical forest biome.

We were commissioned by the British Film Institute to develop a new mechanical and electrical services strategy for the fit-out of the ground and first floor areas of their London Headquarters. The electrical services were completely stripped out and replaced while the mechanical services were retained and modified as thermal modelling having proven that the existing mechanical services were suitable for re-use.
